He was born April 16, 1933 to Allen Jennings Willig and Florence Jackson Willig in Bloomington, IL. Allan is survived by two sons; Brian (Kelly) Willig and Brad (Sue) Willig, as well as three daughters; Jeanette Bowers, Bonnie (Ralph) Lee and Robin (Tom) Wampler. Allan was a graduate of Normal Community High School in Normal, IL. He was an entrepreneur, starting and maintaining a number of businesses in both Indiana and Illinois. He had a progressive insight into real estate and was the initial developer of the Phoenix Hills Subdivision. He loved working so much that he never retired. He continued his usual six-day workweek until July 22, 2015. His favorite mottos were “ ‘Can’t’ never did anything!” and “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Allan showed the world a tower of strength but was softhearted, compassionate and generous to a fault. He loved telling stories and making people laugh. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, gourmet cooking and collecting antique scales.
Allan was proud to be a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Humboldt Lodge #42, Scottish Rite, Zorah Shrine Temple and a past member of Zorah Shrine Hilltoppers.
