Sandy was born on January 2, 1947 in Canon City, Colorado to the late Robert Lee McDowell and Doris Arlene Whaley McDowell. She was a cherished figure in her family, known for her selflessness and nurturing spirit. She was immensely proud of her family, always ready to support them during challenging times, often prioritizing their peace and happiness above her own needs.
Sandy is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy McDowell; six children; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Doris Arlene McDowell, and her brother, Rodney Eugene McDowell.
The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects at the visitation on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM, also at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
