Memorial services for Jack (Viron Gail) Sims, 76, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Gary DeSalvo and Rev. Ron Winsman officiating. Mr. Sims died Wednesday at his residence. Mr. Sims was born February 12, 1940 in Adamsville to Edward Earnest Sims and Leona Mae Strader Sims. He graduated from Texas A & M University. He worked in Farm Chemical Sales in Frisco. He moved to Temple from Waco in 1988. He married Rosemary Stanford Messer January 6, 1989. He worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor with the Cen Tex Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He started several Celebrate Recovery Projects in the Central Texas area. He was a member of Temple Bible Church. Survivors include his wife Rosemary Sims of Temple, son Van Sims and his wife Becky of Lampasas; daughters Cindy Hoskins and her husband Tom of Austin, Mitzi Garrett and her husband Gerald of San Antonio, Sheryl Messer of McKinney; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
