Charles Wayne Pierson

Charles Wayne Pierson, age 63 of Temple, died Friday, July 19, 2013 in an Austin hospital. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 23, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Harrison officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at 3:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Pierson was born February 16, 1950 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee to Charles Robert and Vinie Estelle Carlisle Pierson. He was reared and educated in Fort Worth. He served in the U. S. Army for 20 years. He was a Vietnam veteran retiring in 1992. After retirement he was as over-the-road truck driver for 12 years. He married Linda Blankenship January 15, 1971 in Dallas. He attended Victorious Life Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Linda Pierson of Temple, daughter, Mary Youngs and husband, Jeremy of Waco and two grandchildren, Johnathen and LydiaRose. Also surviving is one brother, John Pierson and wife, Brenda of Lancaster, two sisters, Charlene Bice and husband, Lee of Streetman and Jane Harris of Alameda, California and several nieces and nephews.
