Born on July 24, 1971, in Apple Valley, California, Chuck graduated from Apple Valley High School as part of the Class of 1989. He built a life filled with love and dedication in both Apple Valley, California, and Temple, Texas.
On July 10, 1999, Chuck married his soulmate, Kristi Rene Cheek, in Apple Valley. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised three daughters: Kenadee Hazzard (married to Maxwell Hazzard), Keelie Cheek, and Kloey Cheek. Chuck was also a proud grandfather to Ellie Kate Hazzard, who brought him immense joy after her arrival in September of this year.
He is survived by his wife Kristi; his daughters Kenadee (Maxwell), Keelie, and Kloey; his granddaughter Ellie Kate; his mother Marie Cheek; his sister Kimmie Cheek; his brother Brian Cheek (Donna); and many cherished friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald "Jerry" Cheek.
Chuck was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and community. A hardworking man to his core, he provided for his loved ones without hesitation and was beloved by his railroad colleagues. At home, he found joy in spending time with Kristi and their dogs or tackling DIY projects around the house. He had a passion for the Food Network and the History Channel but above all else, he adored his daughters and treasured every moment with them.
Chuck’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who held him dear.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. In accordance with his wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
