Benny McNiel, Sr.

Benny Mack McNiel Sr., of Moody, was 80 years old when he passed away May 30, 2017, with his family by his side. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Moody Church of Christ, 1506 Ave D., Moody with David Echols officiating with burial to follow at Moody Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8pm Friday, June 2, 2017 at Moody Church of Christ. Benny was born in Bell County on December 31, 1936, to Jimmie and Arty McNiel. He met the love of his life, Peggy Donaldson, at Mother Neff Park. They married on June 29, 1957 in Houston, TX. Benny worked in Commercial Construction for 20 years, before becoming an Instructor at TSTC in the Building Construction Technology Department for 10 years and then in Maintenance Department for 10 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy, sons Benny Jr. and wife Dale of Waco, TX; Jamie of Moody, TX, daughters Karen Hilton and husband Scott of Richmond, TX; Sharon Calabrese and husband Chris of Waco, TX; and six grandchildren: Ryan, David, Cody, Kylie, Caden, and Ashlyn. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Team Garth "Outlaw" Goodwin - Make checks payable to Waco Firefighters Honor Guard.
