Bentley, Mary Ann (Balchun), age 80, of Temple Terrace, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born July 5, 1935 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Labatch) Balchun. She was a much-beloved teacher of English, speech, humanities, and theatre as well as an award-winning actress and proud member of Actors' Equity Association. She was a fine arts advisor and lecturer in theatre at the University of South Florida, guest professor at The University of Miami, board member/chairperson of the Awards Committee for the Florida Association for Theatre Education (FATE), board of directors for Florida Theatre Conference & Southeastern Theatre Conference and Advisor for the Florida State Thespian Society. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael J. Balchun, and husband Joseph G. Bentley. Survivors include her son, Don Kirschner, Jr. and his wife, Susan; daughter, Janet Bentley; grandsons, Donnie and Jonathan and great-granddaughter, Madison. A memorial in celebration of her life will be held at the Gibbons Alumni Center, 4202 E. Fowler Avenue, ALC100, Tampa, FL 33620-5455, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00pm. The Holy Sacrifice Mass will be offered at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, January 10, 2016 at 7:30 am.
