GUARINO, Lillian Castellano, 94, passed into eternity on January 8 at home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Born to Leopold and Angela Castellano, she was a proud graduate of Hillsborough High Class of ’41. Growing up in the Great Depression and WWII instilled a lifelong interest in history, politics and world affairs. As family matriarch, with her passing, annals of Old Tampa life and the Greatest Generation become pages in a book. Married to Paul Ross Guarino , 70 years, they ran a successful family business that took them West each summer. Later she worked in the banking division of Jim Walter. Enterprising and resourceful, she was a mentor and confidante to many who admired her wisdom, indomitable strength and engaging smile. Lillian is survived by her 3 daughters Lorri Seibert Woodacre (John) Wellesley, MA,Rosalie Simms (Bob) and Patti Stalvey (Mike) Temple Terrace, sister Nina Urso, 5 grandchildren Paul Ross Seibert, Wellesley, Courtney S. Fennimore (Tom) Princeton,NJ, Jacqueline Simms-Petredis (Justin) South Tampa, Kelsey Stalvey ,Oregon, Landen Stalvey TT and 2 great-grandsons Jameson and Logan Fennimore. Preceded in death by her husband Paul Ross, and beloved son-in-law Judge Robert Simms and brother Nick. Always active in her community, in Democratic,Dana Shores and Professional Women’s Clubs and president of Ybor City Opti-Mrs. Pallbearers Mike Stalvey, Paul Seibert,Tom Fennimore,Justin Petredis,Landen Stalvey,Danny Guarino. Honorary Paul M. Guarino,Vitoria Smith,Richard Anello,Anthony Anello,Carl Barletta, Nick Castellano. Services will be held Friday, January 13 at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church 5030 E Busch Blvd. The family will receive friends from 10-11 with services at 11.
