PILSBURY, Jack Haynes, 88, passed away in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 12, 2016. He was born in St. Petersburg on June 22, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Clara Haynes Pilsbury, brother Robert, sisters Betty Pilsbury Payne and Barbara Pilsbury Jewell. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, and son, Jack, Jr. (Ana) and daughter Betty Roach (Tom), grandchildren, Sterling Pilsbury, Abby and Sarah Roach. He is also survived by step-children, David Davis, Douglas Davis (Lori), Darin Davis (Colleen), Drew Davis (Sheryl), Dawn Heather Davis Sharkey (Joey), as well as the Davis grandchildren, Ashley Davis Hymel (Chris), Ryan Davis, Justin Davis, Christopher Davis, Tyler Allen, Lauren Allen, Lane Davis, Heather Davis, Maggie Davis, Kathleen Davis, Danny Davis, Duncan Davis, Declan Davis, and two great-grandchildren, Hallie Hymel and Holden Hymel. Jack was raised in Parrish, Florida and graduated from Palmetto High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and attended University of Tampa, graduating from Florida Southern College with a BS in Education and his MA in School Administration from Florida State University. He began his teaching career teaching High School in Belle, Florida and Dade City, Florida, and then as an elementary principal in Clearmont, Florida, and coming to Hillsborough County in 1957 and served as principal at Jackson Heights Elementary, Dale Mabry Elementary, Buchanan Jr. High School, and his last twenty years as a Director of School Transportation for Hillsborough County Schools retiring in 1991. Jack was a member of Temple Terrace United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 15th, with visitation one hour prior to service, at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, 5030 E. Busch Boulevard, Temple Terrace. Interment private.
