Glenn grew up in Dallas, Texas with a love of hunting deer, fishing and playing baseball or football as a youth. He attended Bishop Dunne HS (c/o 66) and later East Texas State University. He spent 4 years in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Glenn eventually made his way to Florida with his family and worked in construction until he retired as Papa.
Glenn loved his family and country more than anything. He treasured time with his grandchildren whether it was baseball practice or drawing pictures. It was later in life that Glenn faced dementia with great strength and courage. He never lost his spirit or humor even in his final days. His family will miss him deeply, but find comfort knowing he is no longer suffering and that we will see him once again.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Yuen Nor (Anna) Hicks; his son, Daniel McDonald Hicks and wife, Wendy Bowen Hicks; his daughter, Wendy Ann Hicks; grandchildren, Heidi Ann Hicks and Trevor McDonald Hicks; and siblings, Emily, Gail and Dale.
Interment with Military Honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, at a later date.
