Christian's presence in our lives was unforgettable, etching a permanent place in our hearts. A gentle and caring individual, he always sought to spread joy and love to those around him. Christian loved traveling, gaming, art, and most of all…his family.
He loved escape rooms, with several family members remembering how he was the KING in this environment.
Purple. Can’t have enough purple. He once casually mentioned that he was thinking about dyeing his hair purple! This wouldn't come as a shock to anyone who knew him well, as he always enjoyed showcasing his creativity through elaborate costumes during Halloween, particularly at the Annual Brand Haunted House.
Christian’s love for travelling was well known. He loved Asian style and culture, and had expressed that he wanted to visit Japan someday.
He once told his Dad, Tim, that the Marriott Vacation Club was his “happy place!” Tim relayed this to the staff there and upon their return to the Marriott, Christian and his father were greeted by a delightful surprise. A vibrant sign adorned the entryway, proudly proclaiming, "Welcome to The Marriott - Your Happy Place!"
His love for plushies could not be missed, with Pusheen and Gudetama holding a particularly special place in his heart…along with his beloved Georgie, of course. His passion for outer space was evident in his fascination with telescopes, which he shared with his siblings and family like Sabrina, his sister-in-law whom he welcomed with open arms and an open heart:
“I’d never looked through a telescope before so it was so very cool. I love that he always invited people into his world and I’m grateful I was able to spend the time I had getting to know him.”
Christian's heart of gold shone through in all he did, and his selfless love for others was openly displayed.
He bought his mom a beautiful glass angel with a yellow bloom inside and had said he wanted to buy her one of each color.
A favorite memory from his brother, Joshua:
“…his smile and presence at my wedding. And when I told him he was going to be an uncle. He was genuinely happy and excited. So much he wanted to celebrate by making the boba tea that my wife gave him for Christmas.”
A memory from his sister, Jessica:
“He made me waffles once without me even asking him to…it was such a sweet gesture.”
His father, Tim, would love to see Christian gently stroke his mom’s hair with care. Watching him enjoy Nana’s beach and Hawaii…and even the simple joy of having him at the family dinner table filled his heart.
His brother Joe remembers Christian’s endearing smile and his bright personality, and how welcoming he was toward others. “He will always be my baby brother. His smile when I held him as a baby to when I would visit the family will always hold a place in my heart. Though we are apart for now, I have faith in the LORD that we will meet again in His appointed time.”
Jamie, Christian’s soon to be sister-in-law, reflects on her memories of him:
“I won’t forget how welcome he made me feel the first time I went to my fiancé's family home. Whether it was showing me his plushies and his favorite games, or sitting next to me at the family dinners. He will always have a special place in my heart.
His sister Sarah loved his creative side: "His creativity shined through his drawings, inspired often times by the video games he enjoyed. Christian loved creative pursuits like drawing, punch needling, and brainstorming ideas for family projects. Everything Christian did, he did with love and passion."
Big brother Danny remembers his mischievous side:
“I loved how funny and competitive he was. One of my favorite memories of him is when we used to play a family favorite game in our pool at our childhood house which was called “Marco Polo silent” and when he was “it” he went after me and I opened my eyes under the water to find him with his eyes open as well which he quickly closed because he didn’t wanna get caught cheating and I just started laughing so hard when he tagged me and then for the rest of time playing Marco Polo when I was “it” I would open my eyes at only him when he was looking at me just because he would always yell, “he’s cheating and that doesn’t count!” It was so much fun and one of the best times of my life.”
Big sister Rebecca reflects on his essence and fearless spirit:
Christian was a spark of light and energy, always moving and doing something. He was an avid gamer and aspiring artist who showed compassion for everything and anyone. He loved the red fox and was like one himself, being fun-loving, adventurous and brave. My favorite memory is when I got to show him Jurassic Park and Alien for the first time. He sat himself in a cardboard box and told me it was his "shield against the monsters" and proceeded to ask and comment on everything in the movies. He wasn't scared of anything.
JM, Christian's future brother-in-law, loved his energetic and eager personality. He recalls the spring in his step and that in his eagerness, he was always the first one in at the river and in Hawaii. He then relayed how Christian had one day asked him to play Mario Kart, and JM told his fiancée, Rebecca, that he wouldn't let Christian win, as that wouldn't benefit anyone...
"He the proceeded to destroy me for a solid hour. And it wasn't even close in any of them."
His Nana will forever remember his expressiveness and open lovingkindness:
"Grandson, You’re heart is divine.
When you were a child, We sent each other kisses like butterflies do, and walking outside with you was such an enjoyment for me. Many times, as I walked by you, I kissed your head from behind. Thank you for letting me! Your precious way you hug, the way you rubbed my hands in yours; I will remember your expressions of love for Nana forever. Your influence on my heart is indescribable. "
Christian, you are a kaleidoscope of cascading color and vibrant energy that saturated our world with your presence, much like the Orion Nebula in your beloved cosmos.
Ensconced in the arms of Jesus…and in our hearts forever.
