George William Hogshead Jr.

George was born on January 27, 1944 in Roanoke, Virginia. He attended Lakeland High School in Lakeland, FL and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Business Administration.

George was married to his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra Jean Knapp. George and Sandra were married on August 29, 1975 in Aspen, Colorado.

George and Sandra lived in many places including, Puerto Rico, Sacramento, CA, Minneapolis, MN, Seattle, WA and Pittsburgh, PA before retiring in Casa Grande, AZ in 2006.

George was proud of his service as a Signals Intelligence Analyst in the US Army from 1966-1968.

George worked for 40 plus years in the area of justice and public safety consulting. George was an executive with Deloitte and Touche, Bearing Point, KPMG and the managing partner of his own business Knapp+ Hogshead. His work brought him to many foreign countries working in the area of internal border security and public safety in Canada, Hong Kong, Spain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

George was an avid traveler and enjoyed the outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed camping and hiking. In his retirement George was active in volunteering with the Salvation Army and the Pinal County Sheriffs Office.

George was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He could always be counted on to provide a good laugh or extend a helping hand to anyone in need. George enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren above all and was a proud and adoring grandfather to four loving granddaughters.

His loving wife Sandra Knapp joined George in heaven on April 22, 2020. His father, George William Hogshead Sr, mother Rose Louise Birchfield and stepfather Andrew Cheisi, preceded George in death.

He is survived by his daughter Jeanne Soltes; son in law Bryan Soltes;and granddaughters Grace, Abigail and Delaney Soltes and Olivia Russell.

George will be forever remembered for his stories, humor and unyielding love and support for his family. We will love and miss you forever.
