Virginia was born in Traverse City, Michigan on October 4th 1942 to Bentura and Juanita Leyva.
Virginia graduated from Hondo High School in Hondo, Texas and attended Austin Community College.
Virginia married Camilo G. Carranza Jr. on April 2nd 1967.
Virginia held various job positions; from a medical records clerk in a Houston hospital to a welder at Westinghouse in Round Rock to an office clerk ACC to her final dream career of owning her own business, Carranza's Taco Depot in Taylor, fulfilling her passion was cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bentura and Juanita Leyva, grandson Caesar Augustine Carranza, and recently a nephew, Jaime Nira.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Camilo G. Carranza Jr.; her children, Yvonne Oranday (Armando), Caesar Carranza (Melissa), Jessica Carranza all of Taylor, TX and Victor Carranza (Nelda) of Round Rock, TX; her grandchildren Stacey Lopez, Abraham and Jade Oranday, Savannah and Audrey Carranza, Mateo and Adlen Carranza; her sisters Cecilia Nira (Conrado), Lucy Garcia (Candelario) and Herminia Campos all of Taylor, TX; her brothers Miguel Leyva (Rosa), Jesus Leyva (Sophia), Frank Leyva (Martha) all of Hondo, Texas and Salvador Leyva (Mary Padilla) of San Antonio, TX.
Pallbearers will be John Michael Juarez, Michael Campos, George Jonse, Tony Van Boekhout, Adam Garcia, and Adrain Ibarra.
A Visitation with Rosary will be held Monday, February 13th 2012 at 6pm (Rosary at 7pm).
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 14th 2012 at 10am in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor, TX.
