Rose Marie Price-Saxton-Pate was born in Charleston W. VA on September 21, 1926. Rose passed away on March 15, 2023 at the age of 96. She was the daughter of John Frank Price and Mary Marie Price (Jackson).
She grew up in Trenton Michigan. She attended Trenton High School. She was a Drum Majorette for the High School band and graduated in 1944.
She married Jack H. Saxton who was at that time enlisted in the Navy. She met Jack while she was a Michigan Bell telephone operator. Later in life she married Eddie Pate. While married to Eddie Pate the two of them lived mostly in Taylor, Texas. She was an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Taylor Texas.
After her husband Eddie died, Rose relocated to Denton to be close to her son Greg and his family. For these last 23 years she has lived in and around Denton and Flower Mound, Tx. For the last five years she has resided at Cross Timbers Care Facility in Flower Mound, TX.
Rose was survived by her sister Barbara (Bobbie) Compeau of Rockford, MI. One of her children, Denise, preceded her in death. She is survived by her remaining three sons; Greg (and Mary Ann) Saxton of Northlake, TX; Mike (and Joan) Saxton of Zionsville, IN; and David Saxton of Cypress, TX., and step-daughter Nonya (Pate) Jordan (and Dennis), and step-son Tommy Pate (and Carol). She is survived by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
In earlier days her hobbies included horseback riding, golf, volunteering at a hospital, cross-stich, playing bridge and other card games. One of Rose’s most memorable qualities was her sense of humor which continued even into the last few years.
A funeral service for Rose will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Capital Parks Mausoleum Chapel, Pflugerville, TX. Burial will follow the service.
