Nick was born in Denton, Texas on May 20, 1981. He attended school in the Kemp and Hutto school districts where he was a talented athlete and excelled in both baseball and football. Nick enlisted in the United States Army in 2001, where he proudly served his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning numerous accommodations. In 2002, he married the love of his life, Ashley, and they spent 21 years building an adventurous, genuine partnership. Together they raised four amazing boys, Caidren, Rylan, Sawyer, and Finley. Nick’s biggest joy and passion was spending time with his family, and he made sure that each of his boys and Ashley always felt how much he loved them. Nick always said his biggest accomplishment was his sons.
Nick also loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed taking his family to the mountains and the beach each year. He loved to travel to beautiful places with his family, creating special memories that will be cherished forever. He loved the game of football - talking about it, watching it, and competing in his fantasy football league with friends. As many know, Nick was also an avid gymshark, who never missed a day to maintain his physical form. Many of us will never see a cutout shirt without thinking of Nick.
Nick had a servant’s heart and never met a stranger. Most importantly, he loved his people fiercely and protected those he loved. He worked in private security which enabled him to build relationships and be the protector he was born to be.
Nick had such joy and took delight in even the simple things in life. He was great at making people laugh, putting them at ease, and making them feel special. He cared deeply about his friends, was always available to help with any job, and led with integrity.
He overcame many battles and challenges during his lifetime, always keeping his family as his anchor. In honor of Nick and Ashley’s first date… ”But when she puts her arms around me, I can somehow rise above it” - Tom Petty.
Nick is survived by his wife, Ashley, and sons, Caidren, Rylan, Sawyer, and Finley. His Mother Michelle Lauderdale, Father Ben Lauderdale, Stepmother Rossy Lauderdale, his grandmother Barbara Feese, Mother-in-law Carol Pennington, Sister Brittin Mulligan and Brother-in-Law Shawn Mulligan, Sister Dorthy Lauderdale and Brother Benji Lauderdale, Sister-in-law Becky Pennington and his beloved service dog, Cain, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
