Marilyn Laffere

Marilyn “Kay” Laffere or Sis as she was known by her family was born on July 2, 1954 to Arthur Ray Jones and Edith Jones. She attended Thrall ISD and graduated from Thrall High School in 1972. She moved to Austin after her marriage to Garry but returned to Thrall after a few years. In 1980 she started working at Thrall ISD, where she continued working until retirement in 2018. She loved her family, her pets (Jack, Milo, Otis, Peewee, Diamond, Blackie, and Trey), her church, and her Thrall Tigers. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Arthur Ray Jones; her sons, Stephen Ray Laffere and Andrew Paul Laffere; and her brothers, Kenneth Ray Jones and Billie Ray Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Garry Laffere; her daughter, Karen Price; her grandchildren, Kacy Nicole Price, Stephen Joseph Price, Emily Rose Price, and Hannah Michelle Price; her great grandchildren, Brooklynn Aldredge and Maverick Burr; her mother Edith Jones; her brother Willie Jones and wife Kristie; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2020 from 6pm-8pm at Condra Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday September 3, 2020 at 10 am at Taylor City Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Jones, Leslie Jones, Charles Mikulencak, Rick Porter, Joe Newell, and Johnnie Jones.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Stephen Ray Laffere Scholarship at Thrall ISD.
