William D. “Bill” Scott, 80, Tampa went to be with the Lord on January 12th, 2019 after a long illness. Bill was born on April 23rd, 1938 in Tampa, FL. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1955 and retired in 1975 after 20 years of service. He earned a BA degree from Florida Beacon Bible College. He was a School Bus Driver for Hillsborough County, FL for 24 years. Many knew him as Santa Claus, a role which he thoroughly enjoyed playing for over 20 Years. An Ordained Minister, he Pastored Liberty New Testament Church for over 9 years. He was the Chaplain for American Legion Post 152 for 5 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Wanda L. “Lee” Scott. Children William Alan (Heidi) Scott of Lutz and Robin Lyn (Jeff) Bagamary of New Port Richey; five grandchildren, George R. Barnes, Shannon L. Persaud, Chloe E. Manzo, Destinee J. Bagamary, William Darren Scott, Cody A. Bagamary, Taylor M. Vojtech, Ryan D. Vojtech and sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr. Tampa, FL 33635 on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 from 4-6pm.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life service at Faith Family Worship Center at 14514 Del Valle Rd. Tampa, FL 33625 on Monday, January 21st, 2019 at 11am, Pastor Lee Jackson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 11am on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
