Griffin, William Carmo, 90, went to meet our heavenly Father on Dec. 1, 2017. Born in Orlando, Florida, but living most of his life in Miami and later Tampa, Florida. He attended the University of Florida and went on to serve in the United States Army in WWII. He worked as a Production Manager for the Miami Herald newspaper for over 25 years. He then retired and moved to Tampa, Florida where he worked at Publix for 15 years. He was an avid college football fan especially for his FSU Seminoles where his grandson Christopher attended. He loved golf and played into his mid-eighties. He especially loved Tiger Woods and most recently, Jordan Spieth. He was an avid reader and read all 122 Louis L’Amour novels. He was a true “people person” sharing numerous life stories to anyone he met. He is predeceased by the love of his life, “Sal”, and his daughter, “Kimmy”. Survivors include his daughters; Jill Kulick and her husband Joseph; Tracy Griffin and her partner Ronnie Adams; son-in-law William Clifford Brown; grandsons Patrick Hopwood, retired United States Marine Corp, and his wife Michelle; Christopher “Bud” William Brown and his great-granddaughter Kendyll Hopwood. He is already missed by his faithful pal; our dog Sammy. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Drs. Rafael W. Blanco and Hal Applebaum for their many years of compassionate care, Carrollwood Care Center and LifePath Hospice. At his request, private services will be held in Ft. Myers, Florida. In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Melech Hospice House, Temple Terrace, Florida.
