Viola "Vi" M. King, 97, of Tampa, formerly of West Palm Beach, Florida and Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania, died August, 24, 2022 at Renaissance Senior Living, Tampa, Florida. Born in Elizabeth Township, PA in 1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Smart) Cadman of Elizabeth Township, PA. After graduation from Nursing School in 1946, Vi worked as a registered nurse for nearly 60 years, primarily in Intensive Care Units at McKeesport Hospital, McKeesport PA. from 1946 to 1982, and St Mary's Medical Center, West Palm Beach FL 1982 - 2006.
Aside from maintaining a successful nursing career, Vi was also an avid gardener and enjoyed Ballroom dancing in her spare time. A past-time she continued well into her 80’s. Vi also enjoyed traveling the world, taking several trips to Spain, France and multiple cruises.
Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Lawrence W. King; brother Harry Cadman, Jr.; and daughter Deborah Merritt.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Kish of Gainesville, FL; Caryl (John) DiBattista of Fort Worth, TX; Larry (Louise) King of Charlottesville, VA; Claire (Ronald) Morosko of Elizabeth Township, PA; Barbara (Ronald) Pasinski of West Mifflin, PA; and Deanna (Richard) Finney of Tampa, FL; by fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Vi is also survived by her brother Charles Cadman and sister Jean Jones, both of Elizabeth Township, PA.
The funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 18th at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church on Fletcher Ave with burial in Elizabeth Township Pennsylvania at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Vi's name.
