Thomasine Ann Finney, 91 of Tampa Florida, formerly of Harrisburg Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission with 35 years of service.
Thomasine was a former member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Harrisburg and an active member of Saint Anne Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida.
She was a volunteer for more than 10 years at the Carrollwood Hospital ER as well as a beloved, long-time volunteer at the Claywell Elementary School library.
After retirement, Thomasine refined her talents as a florist, creating arrangements for family and friends thanks to her sister and best friend, Delores Murphy, a professional florist.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Finney, her son Michael Finney and her daughter, Thomasine Finney. Surviving are her son, Richard Finney (Deanna) of Tampa, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Shane Finney, Drake Finney, Taylor Toothman, Brendan Toothman (Zoe) of Tampa Florida and Ryan Smith (Sarah) of Mechanicsburg, PA; 1 great grandchild, Maddox Smith of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Thomasine was the middle of five children, preceded in death by sisters Catherine Spangler and Francis Zentmyer, and brother Frank Mancuso; one surviving sister, Delores Murphy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA at a date not yet determined. Burial will be in Woodlawn memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA.
