Thomas Gerard Ward, born on November 19, 1969, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on November 12, 2024. Tom was the cherished son of Mary Louise Ward and the late Jack Bogan Ward. He was preceded in death by his father and his three sisters, Leslie, Kimberly, and Jacqueline, whom Tom deeply admired for their courageous battles with cystic fibrosis.
Tom was the father of two sons, Ethan Joseph and Grant Michael, whom he shared with his former wife, Melissa Kolacki Ward. His sons were his greatest pride and joy, and their future success and happiness meant everything to him. In addition to his sons, Tom is survived by his mother, his brother, James Michael Ward (Margaret), and Melissa, who will all remember him for his compassion and kindness.
A proud graduate of Archbishop Alter High School and Bowling Green State University, Tom held his Ohio roots close to his heart. Later, he made his home in Tampa, Florida, where he built a remarkable career with ProVest, LLC. Known for his dedication, hard work, and steadfast commitment to his team, Tom earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to work with him.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Blount and Curry Life Event Center, with a gathering of family and friends at 3:00 pm and a memorial service starting at 4:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor his memory, sharing stories and gratitude for the life he lived. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family for a reception at the Press Box Sports Emporium, 222 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33609.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Tom’s memory to Archbishop Alter High School (https://alterhs.org/make-a-gift/) or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Tom’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
