Tom was born and raised in Lake Milton, Ohio and was loved by many over the years. He served his country with the Army during Vietnam and was a proud American and Soldier. He retired from Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio after 30 years and made many friendships there. For many years, Tom could be found at local diners like Westfalls and Grandview with “the guys” every morning for breakfast.
He was known for his infectious smile and funny storytelling. He was always there to help anyone in need and quick to help his neighbors with everything from getting groceries, car rides to appts and mowing their lawns. He was especially bonded to his neighbors who were like family, Pete, and Christie Rozzi, whom he spent a lot of time with in the later years of life. He loved riding around on his lawn mower and was an active hobbyist with boating, fishing, hunting, and gardening throughout his life. He got a kick out of taking his daughters, nieces, and nephews out on his boat tubing and trying to give them the ride of their lives. It brought him pure joy to witness all kids, family or strangers, play and giggle with abandonment.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Bernice Lemmon and Karen Lemmon as well as his parents Thomas “Ed” Lemmon and Ina A. Smith, his sister Maryann Armstrong and his brother Jack Lemmon. He is survived by his two daughters, Colleen Scionti and Melissa McNeil, his grandsons, Jimmy Scionti and Matthew Scionti, his sister Darlene Teeters, and his brothers Bill and Bob Lemmon. He raised his two girls, Colleen and Melissa, as a single Dad with the help of surrounding family in Lake Milton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to “Angels for Animals” in Canfield, Ohio in Tom’s honor. Donations can be made online or by mail at Angels for Animals, 4570 W. South Range Rd., Canfield OH 44406. Tom was an avid animal lover. He loved his best buddy, Pugsley, and was always known for the shelter he would build in the winter for stray cats behind his home, feeding them morning and night.
His smile will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.
