Susan Pupello Whiteman peacefully transcended on July 1, 2018, in Tampa, Florida, with her family surrounding her with Love. She will be remembered as a loving and caring eternal Soul that touched and uplifted the lives of everyone she met and knew.
Sue was born on June 11, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to her parents Joseph Seligman and Evelyn Bershad. She lived, laughed and loved in the Tampa Bay Area since the early1950s, when her mother Evelyn remarried to Roy Hobson Blanton, a dear man who would become her Life-long and beloved, “Daddy.”
Susan had a very deep and intimate relationship with our Creator. Her Faith was fundamental to how she defined her Self. She was a founding Charter Member of Peninsular Christian Church, taught many years of Sunday School, and devotedly served as Youth Group (CHI RHO) Leader, and church camp counselor, ever inspiring her children in their own relationship with Universe.
Sue was a voracious reader but preferred mystery and suspense novels. She was astonishing at Jeopardy, Trivia Pursuit, or actually, any brain game, that she attempted. Sue was passionate about travel and enjoyed her many trips to Europe with her adoring husband, Robert “Bob” Whiteman. She loved the culinary arts and was a spectacular chef in her own right, especially, Spanish-Cuban style.
Sue was also an avid sports fan where neighbors could often hear her cheering for her favorite teams like the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. She also ran numerous Gasparilla Distance Classics during her 30s and 40s, and various USF racing events. She notably placed in her age group several times!
Sue loved nature, gardening, potting plants, and how plants loved HER! When Sue was at beachside, near sun and liquid blue, it nourished her very Soul. She cherished all animals, especially horses and her beloved dogs (dogs, of which were treated, like royalty in her own home).
Sue is survived by her loving husband, Bob Whiteman; children, Antoinette Knowles-Coet, Wanda Beaudry and Roy Knowles; and grandchildren, Claire Brunhild, Anne Beaudry, Michelle Beaudry, Evalyn Knowles and Maverick Knowles.
Life Celebration and Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 6 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood, 3207 W BEARSS AVE, TAMPA, FL.
In lieu of sending flowers, Sue has requested that you please consider sending donations to your favorite charities that move you and your precious Life.
