I will always carry his smile and laughter.  The world is better for having held him for a brief moment.  Too brief.

My condolences go out to Simon's family and friends. I had the opportunity to work with Simon at Franklin Templeton for many years. He was a great colleague who was approachable and always made himself available to help out any way he could. He will be missed greatly.

All I can see is his smile when I picture Simon.  What a gift that is to this world. So much love and so many thoughts and care to his family and friends in this time. 

Simon was my very first boss at Franklin Templeton and I had the privilege of knowing and working with him over the years.  He believed in me right from the beginning and gave me confidence I had the ability to grow my career and achieve great things.  He brought positivity and humor to every situation.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  Along with many others, I will miss Simon. 

Simon and I worked together for many years at Franklin Templeton in Customer Service of the Transfer Agency.  I particularly remember the two of us being responsible for interviewing potential candidates for positions within our department.  Our interviews, on many occasions were tandem with both of us in the room.  I would like to say that we both had similar interview styles (laid back) and believed that enabled us to staff some excellent employees, many of whom are still with the company (as well as contributing to these memorials).   I believe we both had similar management styles as well “don’t sweat the little stuff “.  After Simon was promoted to Manager of Trade Control, he was always available to consult, advise or just “shoot the breeze “.  
Although, since my retirement, my only contact has been wishing him a happy birthday on Facebook, I fondly consider Simon to be a close friend.  I will miss you, Simon.  How I wish we could have one last “interview “.

I feel very fortunate to have known Simon for 20+ years.  We started as co-workers and them moved on to being friends.  I am sure there will be many times I will think of Simon in the future and I have no doubt that a smile will come to my face each time.  Like many people, I will miss Simon and already do very much.

Jen, Ian,  Joey and family, my heart goes out to you all.  I worked with Jen for a brief time and then got the opportunity to get to know Simon and work with him, also.  Simon made work worth it even on the craziest days.  He had a way with people, would always make us laugh and hearing his laugh made me smile.  I will miss our talks about fishing, football, his Supra and most of all sharing pictures and stories about our sons.  It was no secret how much he loved his family and how proud he was of them.  Simon was such a genuine, smart, witty and hard-working man and we are heartbroken to have lost him.  We are forever grateful for having the chance to know him and work with him.  He will be greatly missed.  

I had the pleasure of working with Simon for many years and was fortunate to have him as my manager during that time. Simon was a great leader, mentor, and friend. He was level headed, genuine, and you could trust his decisions. Always quick and gifted with words, insightful, and added humor wherever he could.

I always enjoyed working with him, but even more so I enjoyed the conversations about fishing, boats, cars, and family. We would frequently swap stories about family and it was clear Simon loved and cared for his.

Simon was a joy to speak with.  He was a bright light with a jovial spirit.   It's difficult to realize my most recent conversation with him will be my last, but  it is one I will remember always, as he had a way of bringing  levity to any situation.  Shop talk would often lead to updates about the ones he cherished most - his family.  I pray comfort to you all .

I worked with Simon for over 15 years and he was always kind, always genuine and a pleasure to work for and be around.  I enjoyed our conversations about the Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins as we both were fans.  We actually discovered we attended the same Jr. High School (Southwood Jr. High School) in Miami.  He will certainly be missed.  My deepest condolences to his family, praying God's strength and comfort.  



I have to assume that Simon hired me, though I have no actual recollection of the interview. I do know that as a result of that 2004 meeting, we ended up working together for many years. It was almost always fun. I recall looking forward to work on Monday mornings (which seems like a preposterous scenario these days) to discuss – among other things – fantasy football. At least during the time we were in the league together, I can say that he was never very good at it. Except for that one year he picked up Michael Vick on a fluke off the waiver wire and fresh out of Leavenworth. I think he won the championship that year, or at least came close. When I heard the news, I was met with the usual sadness and remembrance one feels in these situations. But in reflecting on the past, a lot of great memories came back. One morning, Simon walked up to my desk and jokingly asked if I was hung over. Of course I was not, so he offered up the keys to the Supra and asked if I wanted to take it for a spin. How could I turn down a chance to drive such an iconic sports car? I turned right out of the parking lot onto Ulmerton Road, got on the interstate to give it a little gas and run through the gears, and then turned off onto Roosevelt for a perfect little loop back to the office. It wasn’t as fast as I thought it’d be, but it was still fun. I guess he should have opted for the turbo. Thanks for everything Simon.  

My thoughts go out to Jennifer, Ian, and Simon’s entire family. I had the pleasure of knowing Simon throughout his entire FT career. He was one of the smartest, kindness, and funniest individuals I have ever met. I just loved his sense of humor. Even though we didn’t always work in the same area, we kept our monthly 1:1 meetings as it was therapy for the both of us. We would start out talking about business and within 10 minutes, we would quickly turn to each other’s family, fishing, and his Supra. We shared quite a few FT and personal stories over 20+ years and we are all going to miss him dearly. He was an amazing man. My condolences to the entire family.

I worked with Simon for many years at FT. We shared a lot of laughs during those times. He was a truly awesome person. My heart breaks for Jen & Ian.  He will always be with you, look for the signs.

My heartfelt condolences to Jennifer, Ian and their extended family. Simon was above all a husband, father, brother, friend, colleague, and son. Those were the relationships that formed the richness of his life. Losing him is deeply painful for everyone. Remembering Simon brings a smile, more than a few tears, and the knowledge that he made a difference in every life he touched. It is a legacy all of us would be proud to leave our loved ones and friends.


I was fortunate to see Simon in action at work. He bled Franklin Templeton blue and in many ways his colleagues at work were an extension of his family. Simon often put his personal needs and those of his family behind him to hit the next challenge head-on. People trusted Simon and knew that he led with his personal values. Simon and I met 1:1 every month for many years and we last talked on January 21st. He always talked about Jennifer and Ian in a loving, protective, and caring way. The open and honest conversations ranged from current events, to history, to the books we were reading and ended with business. We would always run out of time in our meetings. Neither of us knowing that we would truly run out of time to continue our friendship. 


Instead of sadness, his memory brings a smile to my face. We were lucky to have had Simon for as many years as we did. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leaving footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. Clearly, Simon left his caring footprints on our hearts that will stay forever.  


We've known Simon for many, many years. He was always so kind to everyone. He was patient, smart, and a very hard worker.  Simon was a great peer and we really enjoyed working with him. We're heartbroken that he's gone so soon. Our condolences to Jennifer, Ian and the rest of the family. Blessings. 

So many years working with Simon and his wife Jen before she started the journey of stay at home Mom….You will be missed. 

So many warm memories from childhood: epic holiday meals at Aunt Mimi’s house with Simon and Joey in their pj’s, all of us lounging around the living room playing games and every so often asking - is dinner ready? and when do we eat?  Then later going grocery shopping with Mimi in Miami looking for a special treat for her boys.  Simon and I spoke most recently by phone exchanging crazy pandemic anecdotes and he was, as always, sweet, kind and funny.  Talking to my cousin Simon always left me with a smile on my face.  Jennifer, Ian and Joe, he is greatly missed.  Love, Leigh


It must have been Easter day in 1969 when  I saw Aunt Mimi.  She was different. I didn’t know what the heck was going on but you could clearly see it was going to be monumental.  And it was!    §.    Simon made our days with his crazy fun, unexpected wit, and infectious smile.  Thanksgivings, Christmases.  That other particular Easter dinner of only side dishes after our dogs ate the roast beef.     §.    Mimi helped keep our beloved  “murderers row” fish tank, every occupant  having done for his entire previous company.     §.    Later in life we shared  boating days out in the beautiful bays and cuts, seeing all the amazing life of the ocean..     §.    We made an epic trip to The Keys & The Pink Scorpion Motel: Turquoise was the ocean, white was the sand, pink was the motel; black were the scorpions… Simon, like Aragorn, wielding Nike, Flame Of The Shoe Sole!     §.    §.    §.    So many blessings.   MISS YOU MAN!

Simon was one of my supervisors in Advisor Services. He was such a kind and funny guy. He would always ask about my family and then fill you in on his. He love his family with all his heart.

Simon hired me back in 2000, and I spent the majority of my time at FT working closely with him in Trade Control. He was full of stories, whether it was about his experiences going to high school in Belgium or fishing. We laughed a lot!!! Over the past few years, we stayed in touch over LinkedIn with pictures of our families and off color jokes. Simon was always there to provide advice, and I consider him a dear friend. I was sad when I heard the news. Jen and Ian, he loved you guys and was so proud of you. My prayers and thoughts go out to you. 

While it has been years since I have seen or spoken with Simon, I will always smile when I think of him. He was just an all around nice guy. Back in the day, he had gone on a vacation and sent me a post card. I will never forget that. And I’ll always remember his white 2-seater car. I can’t remember what type it was, but you always knew it was Simon. My thoughts go out to Jennifer, his son and all those who knew and loved him. RIP sweet Simon!

I had the pleasure of working with Simon for many years in Advisor Services at FT.  My thoughts are with his family,  so sorry for your loss.

Simon always brightened my day. I could go a long time without talking to him at work and the very next time we talked, he would just light up and we'd chat like we were great long-time friends. Simon was such a bright person and always such a true pleasure to connect with. I'm so sorry Simon is gone - sending love to the family. Know that you are not alone in your love for Simon, nor your grief. 

I had the pleasure to work with Simon for the last few years. He was a great mentor and a great person. He had a great talent for bringing out the best in people and always kept things in perspective. I appreciate everything he did for me and I’ll miss our talks about football, and our “what do you think about this” conversations. 

Simon was a genuinely nice man.  We talked frequently about work, family and football.  He was funny, insightful and always hopeful.

I am so fortunate that Simon was my cousin. He was witty and fun, caring and sweet. He had a keen intelligence but was modest and never arrogant. He was incredibly kind and never had a negative word to say about anyone.   
I’d like to share a few happy memories. 
I was at the Holme family house in Briarcliff Manor when Aunt Mimi brought home the twin babies Joe and Simon. Robin and I were 13 years old and supposed to be helping out, but instead, we probably just created extra work. Their amazing strong Mom was cooking and cleaning the day after in addition to looking after the twins. That time I spent holding Simon and Joes as babies created a strong fondness for my cousins that has lasted.        
Another memory was of a great time with Simon in Las Vegas before the wedding to Jennifer. His nervous anticipation of the ceremony was nerve wracking. We set out to distract him with fun activities: sightseeing, shows and nice restaurants. Long lingering meals reminiscing about childhood and sharing stories about our parents and grandparents. Simon was a wonderfully entertaining raconteur, with stories that provided subtle profound insights.

Jennifer and Ian, I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, but through all the conversation with Simon, I feel like we’re friends. He was so proud of you both, and your strength.  I have worked with Simon for many years and was fortunate enough to have him as my boss for several of them.  He was a joy to work with. He had a gift of putting one at ease. He helped make a tense department tolerable with his focus, practical guidance, reassuring voice and humor. I will miss hearing more of his memories of living in Europe, his fish tales, boat struggles, and our paella recipe competitions. I wish we didn’t live so far from one another.  He will be greatly missed. May the memory of him bring you comfort and peace. 

I met Simon at Franklin Templeton.  He was not only a co-worker, but a great friend.  Anytime we met just to catch up he would always talk about Jennifer and Ian.  He loved his family very much.  We always enjoyed sharing with each other what was going on in our lives.  I'll never forget when we worked together in Trade Control many years ago and we were in conferences together,  he pointed out to me that I used the phrase "and what not" all the time.  Lord knows how long I had been doing that before he told me! We joked about that for years.  I feel truly blessed to have the honor of knowing Simon both personally and professionally.  Please accept my deepest condolences.  I am praying for comfort for your entire family. 

While not in the same area, I worked with Simon for many years.  He was always helpful and willing to take time to provide insight ... and he usually had a good story to tie into it as well.  Like everyone, I am saddened to hear of his loss and hope the memory of his kind spirit can give us a little smile.  My thoughts go out to Jennifer, Ian, and all of Simon’s family during this difficult time.

Simon was such a great work colleague and friend, we had so many great conversations, his sense of humor and wit always brightened my day.  I feel so lucky to have known him and worked so closely with him over the years. Simon was a great work peer, and more than that a real friend at work.  Even though we were separated by 3,000 miles, he was always a voice of reason and made a complex subject more to the point for me to understand.  I truly valued my time with Simon and will miss him dearly, but I'm so lucky for the years I got to work with him.   My sincerest condolences.  Rest in peace.

Simon was an amazing person I only got to know through work.  He was my mentor for a few years, and I continued meeting with him, even after there wasn't a mentor program.  He was always willing to share his insight and knowledge and eager to guide individuals to achieve their max potential.   I looked forward to my meetings with him every time, and will miss the conversations that could be had.

I’ve known Simon for many years and had the privilege to work with him very closely over the past 7 months on a work project that we led together.  His honesty, comradery, and humor were a blessing to me and everyone lucky enough to work with him.  He will be greatly missed and my heart goes out to his family and friends.

I worked with Simon in many capacities over the years.  He was a funny, jovial person.  He will be truly missed by all of us who have had the pleasure of working with him over the years.
