Salvatore Protano

SALVATORE "SAM" PROTANO, 89, life long resident of Tampa, Florida, passed peacefully into eternity on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 surrounded by his family and friends. Sam was born in Ybor City, a graduate of Jefferson High School, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and attended Barber College. He worked as a barber for over 60 years, retiring from Mirror Image Barber Shop in South Tampa.

Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie (Montalbano) Protano; his parents Bernado Protano and Frances Dino; and brother, Antonio Protano. He is survived by daughter, Lynda Protano Venegas; grandson, Trace Venegas and great-grandchildren Kaden and Sophia; grandson Derek Venegas (Nichole) and great-grandchildren, Joseph and Vincent; as well as several nephews, nieces, and a host of other family members and very special friends.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be held on August 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM Garden of Memories (Mausoleum Chapel) 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 813.626.3161. Pastor David Montalbano will officiate.

WORD OF THANKS: The family would like to take this opportunity to express love and appreciation to the staff of Buena Vida Residence, Accent Care (Hospice), and all of the medical care professionals who have taken such great care of Sam over the years.
