Ruth Hunold Bradley-Girson, born February 6, 1923 in Brieg, Germany, Ruth was the second of three children born to Ludwig and Elfriede Gruelich Hunold. Growing up during the Great Depression she would encounter even greater hardship and fears during WWII as a resident of Germany. After the war, she worked for the US Army as a cook and eventually married Master Sargent James W. Bradley. The couple traveled the world to many different duty stations while building their family of 3 boys. In the 60’s the family settled in Tampa, Florida. After the death of her husband in 1986, Ruth married Aaron Girson and moved to Land O Lakes, Florida. Ruth worked in her family’s bakery as a child, loving every minute of it and became an extraordinary baker and cook. Her job in the Germany military was as a bursar, distributing ration allocations. During her lifetime she earned extra money sewing alterations, baking cakes and as a sales clerk. Ruth’s goal was always to have a smoothly managed home and family. A Christian, she dedicated her life to her husband, children and her Church. When the children were grown Ruth began a career in Real Estate. She was extremely accomplished in everything she attempted and became a “star” in this field. Discipline and honestly were a hallmark of her teachings and example. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, sister, brother, husband James “Jack”; two sons, Gary and David and one great-grandchild, Justin Lott. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Girson, her son, Herbert Bradley (Margie), step-son, Roger and step-son, Don Girson (Mary). Ruth is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Survived by many nieces and nephews in both Germany and the U.S., Ruth will not only be remembered as an “Aunt” but as a surrogate mother.
