Bob was born on October 11, 1957 in Wilmington, Ohio to Robert Workman Sr and Evelyn Worley. He spent his childhood years in Ohio before relocating to Tampa, FL where he completed high school. He then served 6 years in the Army before receiving an associate degree from ITT Tech.
Bob spent 30 years cultivating a career in the telecommunications field starting as a CO Tech and eventually becoming Senior Director of Commercial Management at Ciena.
Throughout his life, Bob nourished his passion for fishing, live music, traveling, and quality family time. He was able to blend work and travel which allowed him to visit many places such as China, Europe, Japan, South America, and many more exotic locations. Bob’s motto was work hard, play hard, and he carried this through his entire life. Whether he was on a charter boat in Key West or a Train concert in Vegas, he was always trying to experience the best life had to offer. You could find him most in his element when spending time with his large, loud, and loving family.
Bob is preceded in death by his father Robert, his mother Evelyn, his stepfather Melvin Worley, his brother James Workman, and sister Amanda Worley. He is survived by his wife Tina Workman, his brother Bryan Workman, his five children Jennifer Brueske, Kristina Workman (Ryan Chamberlin), Robert Workman III (Nevena Workman), Kristen Wright, and Amanda Jones (Alex Jones), his nine grandchildren JoAnna Harris, Nicholas Brueske, Zacary Blye, Alex Brueske, Yanna Johnson, AJ Johnson, MiKayla Workman, Ryleigh Brueske, and Cassius Jones, and his two great grandchildren Carter and Mason Harris.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Thursday, December 15th, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home- 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609. Family and friends will be received at 1:00 PM and the service will begin at 1:30 PM.
Anyone that knew Bob knows his love for Hawaiian shirts. If you would like, you are welcome to wear your favorite Hawaiian or tropical apparel.
