Robert Allen Schmitt

Schmitt, Robert Allen, 63 of Lutz, Florida passed away on January 23, 2015 from complications with prostate cancer. Born on November 15, 1951, he was the son of Marion and Al Schmitt of Cincinatti; both of which preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Madene Mandel; his daughters, Amanda Bottleson and her husband Hollis, Megan Schmitt, and Courtney Berling and her husband Greg all of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughters, Abby Bottleson, Katie Siderits, Emily Siderits, Ty Bottleson, Madelyn Berling and Lyla Berling; brothers, Bill Schmitt and Tom Schmitt; sister, Karen Hess. He was brother-in-law to Nancy Schmitt and Randy Hess, and uncle to Michael Shomo, Kristen Shomo, Kevin Schmitt, Lauren Bosse, Erika Schmitt, Kyle Schmitt, and Jason Hess. He was son-in-law of Harvey and Joan Mandel, brother-in-law to Lloyd and Dina Mandel, and uncle to Matt, Jordan, and Lexi Mandel of Warren, New Jersey. He graduated from Marshall University where he lettered for 4 years in swimming and was co-captain his senior year. He enjoyed his work as he co-founded one company and founded another; C3 Business Information, Inc. that continued his lifelong career in the information business. The family will hold a celebration of life at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel at 12pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2015; family will start receiving guests at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert’s name to Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary, 116 Brighton Ave, Spring Lake, NJ 07762 or Moffitt Cancer Center.
