She lived in Chicago, IL and Tampa, FL most of her adult life, and worked at Sears Roebucks for over 25 years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonso Amato, her sister, Gina Marie Tomasini, her brothers, Lido John Celli, and Arturo Celli.
Survivors include her daughters, Gayle Carmella Riley and husband Marvin of Lodi, CA, and Cathy Ann Amato of Tampa, FL; her sons, Alphonso Amato, Jr. and wife Sandra of Houston, TX, John Edwin Amato and wife Lenore of Tampa, FL, and Carl Gabrielle Amato and wife Bethe of Spencer, TN; her grandchildren; Jennifer Fancher and husband Gary of North Bend, WA, Jennifer Amato-Grindell and husband Nate of Riverview, FL, Anthony Amato and wife Koby of Riverview, FL, and Raven Dene Amato and fiancé Ryan Burkhart of Houston, TX; her great grandchildren, Ho O' kele O' kekai (Kekai) Hauanio, Parker Amato, Nate and Drew Fancher, and Raven Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Her life remembered celebration will be held at a future date. Burial services will be at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband, Alphonso.
The family of Rena Amato wish to extend our sincere thanks to the caregivers at The Inn at Aston Gardens for the great care they have provided Rena these many years. She was loved by all, and loved all of them in return. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses who attended her in her last days at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor. I am especially grateful that she was not alone when she left this world.
