Remembering Eloise Perry- "Bebop"

It is with profound sadness that the family of Ruth Eloise Perry- “Bebop” announce her peaceful passing on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 86. She was surrounded by her loved ones, her four children and her grandchildren. Eloise “Bebop” was born on August 15, 1936 in Washington Township, Ohio. Eloise grew up in Ohio and was the oldest of four daughters. She attended Case Western Reserve University and graduated with her RN in nursing. At twenty-six years old she met Arthur Perry and moved to Florida. Art had two sons, Arthur and Steven. Eloise had two daughters, Susan, Stephanie and together had their newborn, Jim. They moved to Odessa Florida with their blended family and proudly raised five children all between six weeks and four years of age, while building a successful trucking and warehousing company that is also celebrating sixty years in business. They were pillars of the community, loyal and devoted to their family, friends, employees and church family. The Perry family established their roots in Odessa Fl and grew together as one, over sixty years. Eloise still lived in the same home that she raised her children and grandchildren in, and it still stands as a sacred gathering place for our family.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Inez Allen, her husband of thirty-three years Arthur Perry and her son Steven Perry. She is survived by her four children Susan Lord (Robert), Stephanie Amato (Alan), Arthur Perry Jr. (Katie), James Perry, her grandchildren Kelci Colón (Josh), Jaclyn Amato, Samantha Perry, Arthur Perry III, Abigail Perry, Justin Perry, great grandson Tyler Perry, her sisters Janice Highman (Richard), Carolyn Taggart, Bonnie Willis (Gene), and several nieces and nephews. Eloise “Bebop” will be in our hearts forever… a true legend, a legacy, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and a one-of-a-kind woman we will never replace…As she walks beside us, until we meet again.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A graveside service will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM at Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Race Track Road, Odessa, FL 33556. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Race Track Road, Odessa, FL 33556.
