Neoma Marie Moss

Neoma was born in Granite City, Illinois on March 27, 1946, to the late Murrell Lancaster and Ruth Neoma Ida Hecht. She graduated from Granite City High School in 1964 and went on to have a highly successful career as a retail manager, working for J.C. Penney for 25 years. Never one to sit idle, upon her retirement she embarked on two other careers as a travel agent and Licensed Practical Nurse.

Neoma married her beloved husband, James, in 1967. Together, they raised two wonderful children Jimmy and Matthew.

She was an avid golfer and loved her mornings with the “Niners” and evenings with her Bunko ladies. Her greatest passion however was her granddaughter Elizabeth. Nothing brought her more joy than to see firsthand her cherished Elizabeth grow up.

Neoma is survived by her husband, James Walter Moss; her children, James Lyndon Moss and Matthew Scott Moss; her granddaughter Elizabeth Hayes Moss; and her sister Linda Pixler(Alan) and brother Thomas Thaxton.

A memorial service will be held in and announced in the near future.
