ALVAREZ-BARRERA, Miguel, 58, of Plant City, passed away December 6, 2019. He was a child of Obbatala. Miguel is a High Priest in the Ifa Religion. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was the best cook in the house, opened up his home to all, and enjoyed decorating his home for Christmas. Miguel enjoyed hosting gatherings, serving numerous pasta dishes, well well done steak, warm Cuban bread and strong hot Cuban coffee. Miguel liked to test his luck at the slot machines while cruising the Caribbean with his family. He touched and saved so many lives; his words were encouraging and helped to build up others.
His mother Emma Barrera precedes Miguel in death. He is survived by Madelin, his beloved wife of 30 years, children; Nataly Orellana and husband Arturo, sons Daniel, Miguel and Guillermo Alvarez, father Miguel Alvarez, grandchildren; Arturo Orellana, Arian Orellana, and Adalyn Orellana, brother Luis Alvarez, sister Caridad Alvarez, extended family and numerous friends.
A visitation will be held 3pm- 7pm, Wednesday, December, 11, 2019 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden on Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave ,Tampa, FL 33610.
A committal service will be conducted 3pm, Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
