Michael D. Kenny

Michael Douglas Kenny of Dover, FL passed away on April 17, 2021 at the age of 56 following a long battle with cancer. Michael was born on July 26, 1964 in Rochester, NY. His family moved to Cape Coral, FL in 1966. Michael was raised in Cape Coral, FL and later moved to the Tampa Bay area after college.

He is survived and dearly missed by his father Douglas Robert Kenny (Debbe) of Riverview, FL and his mother Diane Arthur Sangelo of Tampa, FL. His wife of 17 years, Nahomi Ortiz Kenny; sons, Kevin Kenny and Calvin Kenny; sisters Kristen Kenny Keller (Clyde) and Kellie Kenny Hall. Nephews: Casey Keller, Kenny Keller, Coy Keller, Connor Hall, Brogan Hall, Grant Hall and Nolan Hall. And his dear in laws Jose A. and Carmen E. Ortiz

Michael had an impressive business career as Vice President of Operations for Precision Communication Services, Executive Director for Telmar Network Technology, Site Director for both Jabil and iQor and eventually Owner of Precision Electronic Repair Services.

Michael enjoyed sports, both as a participant and a fan. He loved basketball (where he got his nick name Rider), but also enjoyed football, baseball and softball. He was an intense Buccaneers and FSU Seminoles fan, and mastered the art of tailgating. While Michael always enjoyed playing the competitive sports, nothing brought more of a smile to his face than watching his sons play. He felt that participating in sports lays a solid foundation for life.

Competition was a driving force with Michael. He was a determined person with a quiet confidence… something that most people could see immediately upon meeting him. He enjoyed life to the fullest and never forgot to “smell the roses” along the way. His path was his own; he did it his way and never forgot to include his family and friends in the special moments he encountered. You could see this in his clashes with cancer, which first started in 2000. Against the odds, he battled cancer three times and won.

The driving force with Michael was always his family. He was quick to tell people how his family shaped his beliefs, and how the lessons that he learned from them really shaped him into the person he became. He was always the first to give, with no expectation of getting anything back in return. Michael never met a stranger, loved fearlessly and forgave selflessly in a selfish world.
