Tucker, Mark Donald, 40, native of Tampa, passed away September 10, 2014 after a brief illness. Mark was a detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department and truly loved his job and all the people he worked with. He was a Rays fan and referred to the players by their first names. He often traveled to the out of town games and if he was not their number one fan, he was awful close. Mark worked hard and played hard and lived his life to the fullest. He knew and touched the hearts of so many people. In North Tampa, his friends called him the Mayor of Carrollwood. Mark is survived by his parents, Don and Libby Tucker; twin sister, Marcie Vogt (Shane); brother, Lonnie Tucker (Denise); nephew, Brendan Tucker; nieces, Danielle Tucker, Mackenzie, Zoe, Bailey and Riley Vogt and his two dear friends, Melissa Oakes and Mike Rogers. There will be a memorial service Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10:00 AM at Idlewild Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mark’s name to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, The Spring or your favorite charity. The family would like to thank the doctors, and especially the nurses of the ICU team at Tampa General Hospital. Also, Sheriff David Gee and his entire staff for their heartfelt support. Arrangements are entrusted to the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel. Online condolences may be expressed at www.blountcurrycarrollwood
