Junior Jones

Junior Lamar Jones, 95, a WWII Army veteran who received the Purple Heart passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

Junior was "The Rock" the patriarch of the family who loved and cherished his family and always lived by "Family Comes First". He enjoyed taking his wife to the mountains on vacation and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Junior also loved to go fishing and enjoyed working with wood in his free time. He was a faithful and devoted member of Lake Carroll Baptist church and was a member since 1952.

Junior was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Nadine Jones; son, Donald Jones; brother, Leo Jones; sisters, Oveta Wajdowicz, Jean Lang and Odessa Jones. He is survived sons, Duane Arlan Jones, Danny Lee Jones, David Elliott Jones; daughter, Denise Nadine Delbaugh; brother, Hugh Jones; sisters, Raynell Locklar, Hazel Nalls, Beverly Thomas; grandchildren, Wendi, Cassi, Amy, Jessica, Ben, Julie, Jennifer, John; great grandchildren, Dylan, Brenden, Declan, Samantha, Sydney; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on 5-7pm Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel. A funeral service will be held Wednesday 11am at the funeral home with a burial to follow at Lake Carroll Cemetery with Military Honors.
