John Cotter, age 68, passed away on October 29, 2019. John was born in New York City and proudly served six years in the U.S. Army. John graduated from St. Peter's College with a degree in Computer Science. He was employed as a computer programmer at IBM, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Rita M. Cotter, as well as brother-in-law John R. Murtagh. John is survived by his loving companion, Karen Kneifer; brother, Patrick; sisters, Margaret Murtagh, Noreen (Wayne) Garrett, Anne Marie (Thomas) Chmura; loving nieces and nephews, Patricia, Karen, John, Laura, Kaitlyn, Danielle, Kristen, and Nicole; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Maggie, Liam, Rita, Jack, Joe, Kendall, Garrett, Brian, Kristen, Isabella, and Adriana.
Visitation will be November 3, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood, 2307 W Bearss Ave. Tampa FL 33618. Funeral mass will be November 4, 2019 at 9:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 15520 N. Blvd., Tampa, FL 33613.
John was so loved in life, and will be truly missed.
