John “Jack” Edward Cooper, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on December 21, 1930, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to the late Ethel Mae and John Cooper.
He attended University of Iowa with an area of concentration in education. Jack taught at City West in Iowa, and finished his career at Arlington Heights in Illinois, retiring in 1985.
In 1979, Jack relocated from Indiana to Florida, where he began a new chapter in his life. On February 14, 1997, he married, Pamela Ann Cooper, with whom he shared many cherished years.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Ann Cooper; his children, John Cooper Jr., Anne Farris (Scott), Mary Thompson (Tom), and Barb Umbaugh (Ed). Through his marriage to Pamela, he gained another son, Kevin Sweeney. He also leaves behind seven adored grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn Cooper; his son, Steven Cooper; and his parents, Ethel Mae and John Cooper.
Jack will be remembered for his kind heart, his devotion to family, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
