Joe was a good man. He was one of the elders at the Lutz congregation when Robin and I were there. He and Reavis were such an encouragement to a young preacher and his wife. Joe and Margie have always a special place in our hearts. As do the Pettys, Osteens, Dennisons, Goins, Shearers, Fields to name a few.  Prayers for Margie and Dicky.

Joe was a fine Christian man. He was a true example of what a Christian should be. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed . My condolences to Margie Dickey and Dorry and all of his friends and family.

As a child and teenager, I went to church with the Strickland, Osteen, Dennison, and Goins families in Lutz. As an adult, I look back and am thankful for all those men and women who helped shape my faith in God and the Lord.  Joe Strickland was one of those influential men by the example of the life he lived.  Always faithful, always there, always dedicated.  When I think of Joe I think of 2 things.  He was always smiling.  I don't remember ever seeing him without it.  Was he born with it or did the Lord give it to him?  The world would be a much better place if we were all like him.  And he, along with Bodie, were the key song leaders.  They were the greatest song leaders in the Lord's church and they didn't even use a pitch pipe...but they had a set of "pipes" they used to sing enthusiastically to their God.  It was infectious.  My prayers are with Margie, Dicky, and Dorry in your loss of a husband, father, and brother.  And prayers for the Lutz church and community who have lost a much needed influence.  But comfort is found knowing that Joe is with the Lord in life and in death.

Never saw a better fencing job that he and Boddy did for us. Such a wealth of knowledge

Joe will always have a special place in our hearts.  We worshiped with him and his family in Lutz for many years and he was always ready and willing to help the Church and so many individual people.  A great Christian example to all.

I have the greatest respect for Joe. He was always an encouragement to me, always at church services well into his 90s and never complained about how badly he felt and always encouraging me in the work of the church. I will miss his smile, his sense of humor and his kind ways.
