James Yeloushan

YELOUSHAN, James N. “Jim”, passed away peacefully September 17, 2023, at age 95, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jim and his beloved wife of 73 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Yeloushan (deceased June 10, 2022), became lifelong residents of Florida, living their final years in Clearwater Beach.

He is survived by two of his children, son, Richard C. “Rick” Yeloushan (Jackie) of Lutz, Fl, and daughter Susan M. Converse (Peter) of Arlington, Va. He was preceded in death by both Libby and their son, James W. "Jimmy" Yeloushan (Debbie) of Tampa, Fl. Jim is also survived by four grandchildren, Chris Yeloushan (Heather), Paul Yeloushan (Alison), Ryan Yeloushan (Mellissa), Kelli Yeloushan (Ron), and five great-grandchildren, Austin Yeloushan, Katie Yeloushan, Trinity Yeloushan, Rylee Yeloushan, and Hunter Mendez.

Jim came from a humble beginning. He was a full time student at the University of Pittsburgh while also working full time in the coal mines, eventually going to work for Household Finance as a management trainee. Early in their marriage, Jim and his late wife Libby and their two young sons, moved to Florida where they embarked on a successful career in real estate and running three family businesses, Thrifty Schwinn and Lawnmowers, Tampa Schwinn and Lake Ellen Beach. Following their entrepreneurial success, Jim and Libby spent most of their final years of their lives together traversing the U.S., Canada and Alaska in eight successive motor homes while also traveling the world. They loved to brag that they had taken over 75 cruises worldwide. Their many adventures together naturally provided endless material for Jim’s great knack for storytelling. It fed his lifetime aspiration to be a novelist.

A funeral service will be held 3pm, Tuesday, October 3rd, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 11005 US-301, Thonotosassa, Fl. 33592, where he will be interred with his beloved Libby.
