James H. B. Woodroffe, IV, affectionately known as "JimBo," passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was 54 years-old. JimBo will be remembered for his pirate smile, his passion for life on the water, and most of all, the endless love he shared for his family.
JimBo Woodroffe was a graduate of Jesuit High School and a proud University of Florida Gator. As a member of the Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla (YMKG), he truly embodied the Florida lifestyle, living his life to the fullest in Tampa Bay and beyond. He was at his happiest at the helm of a boat or holding the hand of his loving wife.
Perhaps nothing brought him greater joy than cooking for those around him, which had grown to become his purest love language. Whether it was one of his legendary crawfish boils, sunrise-to-sunset smoked ribs (the greatest ribs of all-time), or his Grandmother's Christmas rolls, nobody ever left JimBo's company with an empty stomach.
JimBo was strong, intelligent, kind, and so much fun to be around. He was a friend and father to all, providing endless wisdom and knowledge with his "JimBo-isms." Anyone who met him absolutely adored him.
JimBo is survived by his wife, Laurie, his sons Hank (Joelle), Wade, and Logan (Mackenzie), and his daughter Devan (JB). He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Patsy Woodroffe, his brother, William, his two nephews, Will and Samuel, his father-in-law, Danny Stewart (Beth), his brother-in-law, Steven Stewart (Alisha), and his niece, Savannah Stewart. He held tremendous love for his mother-in-law, Sandra Stewart, who has passed.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10th from 5:00 to 9:00pm at Blount and Curry Funeral Home (605 S Macdill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609). Services will be Saturday, February 11th at 12:00pm at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church (3501 West San Jose Street, Tampa, FL 33629) with an entombment at 2:00pm at Sunset Memory Gardens (11005 N US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592). A celebration of life will also be held Saturday, February 11th from 1:30 to 5:30pm at the Merrymakers Club (124 Danube Ave, Tampa, FL 33606). In honor of JimBo, we ask that you wear your brightest and most colorful tie.
JimBo's infectious smile and gregarious laugh will be missed. In the words of his family, "We love you JimBo. You will forever be our captain."
