Jacqueline Ann Wakely

WAKELY, Jacqueline J., 85, of East Lake Wood¬lands, Oldsmar, Florida, passed away on June 15, 2014. She had been a resident of Florida since 1980. She moved to Tampa from Mt. Pleasant, Michi¬gan along with her husband Donald, who opened the Tampa office of Wakely Associates, Architects and Engineers, whose home office was based in Michigan. She worked for Wakely Associates in both the Mt. Pleasant and Tampa offices in interior design, retiring in 1993. During her years in Mt. Pleasant, she was active in many civic organizations and as an artist, was instrumental in forming Mt. Pleasant’s first artists association as well as the beginning of Mt. Pleasant’s Head Start program. She shared her love of sailing with her husband, sailing the Great Lakes in Michigan and Canada for many summers and was a member of the Saginaw Bay Yatcht Club. She is survived by a son Randall W. Wakely, of Tampa; a brother, Harold C. Jackson and wife Eunice of Rochester Hills, Michigan and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her husband, Donald J. and son Allen J. Wakely preceeded her in death. A private family service will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Tampa with Burial at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
