Gloria F Owen

Gloria Tavares Owen went to be with her Lord on July 23, 2023. Gloria was born in Kingston Jamaica on May 2, 1942, and lived in Tampa, Florida for most of her life. Gloria dedicated her time to serving her family and others. Her selfless love for all of us will be dearly missed.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Hyacinth Tavares, her husband Richard Owen, her sisters Doreen Browder, Claire Stewart, Greta Meeks, and her brothers Leslie Tavares and Raymond Tavares.

She is survived by brother Gerald Tavares, sister Priscilla Trimmier, daughter Abbie Oliver, son Richard Owen (Debbie), daughter Annie Wilson (Mark) as well as her dearly loved grandchildren John Oliver (Monica), Jeremy Oliver (Alicia), Justin Oliver (Brittani), Estone Owen (Tess), Tucker Owen (Annelies), Taylor Owen, David Wilson (Kristen), Kristen Besancenez (Michael), and Corey Wilson. Gloria also leaves behind 17 great grandchildren Emily Oliver, John Oliver, Jace Oliver, Ava Oliver, Hadley Oliver, Haidyn Oliver, Hensley Oliver, Wylee Owen, Avianna Owen, Sanibel Owen, Oakley Owen, Maverick Owen, Eva Kate Wilson, Reagan Wilson, Virginia Wilson, Lucas Besancenez, and Owen Besancenez.

The family would like to express gratitude to Kim Richardson and the staff at Atrium Gardens for the love and care they provided Gloria for the last several years.

The family will gather to celebrate Gloria's life at a graveside service and burial at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 12:00 noon.
