It's hard to believe it has been 2 years since Mike passed.  He was truly a wonderful person and friend.   May he continue to rest in eternal happiness and peace and shine down on all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike’s Tenacity. 

A story that I’m sure Mike has told others but that still needs sharing for those that haven’t  is  the Microelectronics course taught under Dr. Jon R McDearman that we had to take to get through the EE curriculum at Tennessee Tech.  The Electrical   Engineering major at Tech was nicknamed “pre-business”, and the faculty almost seemed to take pride in weeding out the undisciplined and wannabes. 

Dr. McDearman was no exception.   Mike and I took the course the same quarter,  and it was obvious that it was going to be some work.  The first exam came, and Mike bombed it.  And not just a little. He had the worst grade in the class.   Very upset, he went to talk to the professor to see what he could do.  McDearman told him to change majors, saying that he had never seen anyone in his entire teaching career who had gotten that low a score on the first test  pass the course.  It was obvious that he wasn’t cut out to be a Tech EE, he said. 
Mike told the prof that he was going to get an “A”, which was somehow still mathematically possible.   Mike dug in, got perfect scores on the remaining homework and exams, and got his A.    McDearman, to his credit,  was happy to eat his words and developed a deep respect for Mike.   So much so that when he received funding to do some research to develop a fish tagging system to track fish in the Tennessee Valley River system, Mike was the student he selected to do the design work.  
Long story short, you never, never, ever bet against Mike Theodore.   You would loose. 


Mike was a great leader. I met him 11 years ago and he taught me how to code, set up a website business, and run the business in a professional manner. Most of all, he taught me how to be a better person. Mike was innovative, business savvy, and caring. For such a successful businessman, he cared for everyone he met. He led by example, and he will be missed greatly.

Sincere condolences to Theo's family and friends.  I worked and traveled all over the world with Theo, we did oceanographic research on a Navy project managed by Western Electric/Bell Labs. Theo was was an excellent engineer and readily shared his knowledge with others.  He created some very innovative solutions and in the  early years of his engineering career, he didn't always get direct credit for his ingenuity.  Theo will be missed and my heart goes out to all that held him dear.

Anytime I called or he called me I always felt as if I had his total attention.  His ability to be present was something I am always trying to achieve. He was some I admired and felt privileged to call my friend. 

Mike and Ruth Anne always made us feel special and welcome.  I will miss Mike very much.  

Mike never shied away at the opportunity to help and rose to any challenge that came our way. I only knew Mike remotely, but he was a valuable business partner that always seemed to be more excited about growth in my site than I was. I'll miss our phone conversations that never stayed on topic, and his insanely quick response time to each and ever one of my "emergencies". I am so saddened that we never got to meet in person... The guy was one-of-a-kind.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I hope you can see all the Facebook posts that have been made by Mike’s friends from Ooltewah High.  He had many.  The most common word used was “kind”. Mike, Matt,Marty and myself were the best foursome of managers that Portrait Homes NC ever had. Mike was a visionary and a delight to work with and have as a friend. Although it has been years since we saw each other I messaged him about his trip to Alaska a while back to ask a question and he was quick to reply and converse as if we had just spoken yesterday. I’m glad to have known him and sad to learn of his passing. 

I am honored to have known Mike Theodore.  Six years is not a long time, but we packed a lot of fun and laughter into those years as we got to know Mike and Ruthanne.  Mike was a true friend and confidant to my husband, Rob.  I am grateful for that friendship as both of their lives were enriched by it.   Mike was nothing but a true southern gentlemen,  and always had a compliment or sweet word for me.   The times we spent - Rob and I and Mike and Ruthanne -  at Lake Toxaway, Lake Burton and Portugal are wonderful memories I will cherish.  Our dinners at each other's homes, at Mike's favorite restaurant, Rocca , and other nights out were always filled with laughter, good conversation, caring and respect.  I'll miss hearing his southern drawl, and some of the phrases that were uniquely Mike..."Oh, my God this is Stooopid!" and "Haay Sweet Pea!"  Thank you, Mike, for all you were to us.  I'm so glad we got to spend this time together.  Ruthanne, Dan, Midge, and all of the family - I send love, my deepest sympathy and I will keep you all in my prayers in the days to come.

Mike and I were business partners in Land Development Resource Group and friends before that. Mike was always the smartest guy in the room,, but also had a tremendous heart.  He will be missed by many and my prayers are with the Family. 

I am so sorry for your loss. Such an amazing man, friend and father!

I am grateful to God for giving me the privilege of even for a short time to live with such a kind man, who went out in the rain to help me with the car.  Smiling and helpful repeating to himself: I can do this.  And he did.  He made the cleaning lady continue her work feeling the kindness and humanity that emanated from him.  I prayed thanking God for having received and comforted him in his arms, because I am sure he is in the presence of God the Father.And I pray that God will comfort the heart of your sweet and kind wife.

Mike was a genius and he was always so interesting to talk to. In the little time that I knew him he taught me so much about real estate and marketing. His interests were incredibly diverse. It was fascinating to realize the depth of his knowledge on so many subjects. 
Can't forget about that quick wit of his. He and Ruthanne always had such fun together.  They way they enjoyed life, it was easy to see the love between them. Prayers of comfort to Ruthanne and the family.

The Ooltewah High School Class of 1975 mourns the loss of our classmate. We have wonderful memories of Mike and will always cherist his friendship. 

My heart goes out to Michael's family. Anyone who got to spend time with Michael knows what a smart, gracious and funny man he was. I was lucky, as part of the BOA Family, to get to know him.

It took me six months to finally understand his core business and how he was outfoxing the Google algo and creating a more effective display advertising. The client won and he won as he was beating Google. He loved the game. He was so bright and more importantly...so very humble.

He is a friend and us jews say a real mensche.

He gave without asking and I benefited from some awesome advice and laughs!

We met several times at Board of Advisors including one not too long ago.  At that event, I found out you had invested in Kennected, which is a big reason why I joined the company full time last week.

You were a caring soul, a mover and a shaker, and you will be missed. 

Thank you for playing a part in the trajectory of my life. Even though we didn't get to spend a ton of time together, I thank you for the time I did get to know you.

I was Mike’s Insurance Agent in Greensboro NC or 16 years. I was a brand new agent in 2006 and he was doing land developing. He would cuss me out because track builders were holding his money owed to him that was out of my control… only to call me back within a few minutes to apologize and tell me he appreciated me.  We became friends aside from the business relationship. Mike was a very creative & sharp mind. More than that he had a good heart! He will certainly be missed by many. Rest high upon that mountain my friend!!! My prayers go out to all family & friends🙏🙏🙏

The extraordinary impact that Mike had on my life that cannot be measured in words.

In the 6 years that I knew him, we became the best of friends and the experiences we shared together will be cherished forever.

We talked about everything and discussed various points of view.  He had a servants heart and on the deepest of levels he wanted to change the path our country was on. Our trips to Alaska, Lake Toxaway, Lake Burton, and Portugal were some of the best times we shared and we created incredible memories.    

When he and Ruthanne moved to Florida, only a few miles from me, we would meet at “The Compound” for coffee or meals 3-4 times a week.  I was blessed to be his friend and one of his closest confidantes.  I dubbed him The Godfather and I was his first lieutenant. 

 I will miss “throwing spaghetti” with Mike and I’ll  hold these memories close to my heart as long as I have breath in my lungs.  I love you Godfather.
