George D. Brooks, 92, went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2024. Born in Birmingham, AL, he graduated from the University of Alabama in mechanical engineering. He moved to Tampa in 1964 to be the production manager of the Tampa Tribune. After working for GTE Data Services constructing their national data centers, he became a full-time minister. Married to Linda, the love of his life and partner in ministry, they founded Faith Covenant Fellowship (now River of Life Church) in 1981. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 69 years; son, Mike (Angie) Brooks; daughter, Carol (Michael) Cromer; grandchildren, Nicole Brooks, Alex Brooks, Drew Cromer, Lance Cromer, Chelsea Cromer, and bonus granddaughter Ashley Alrich-Altman, great-grandchildren Brent and Jack. A Memorial Service will be held at River of Life Church at 11:00 am on Saturday November 23, family will receive friends at reception following. Donations may be made to River of Life Church.
