Florence (Flo) Bryant was surrounded by the love of her family as she passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2023. Born on March 25, 1959, in LeRoy, Saskatchewan, Canada, Flo grew up on ‘The Farm’ with 12 brothers and sisters. Growing up there instilled in her a lifelong fear of turkeys and a lasting love for St.Gregor sausage. She was 20 years old in December 1979 when she decided she needed a change and made an impulsive decision to join a traveling carnival. It was at that carnival that she met the love of her life Dave, and they married in September 1981.
In their 42 years together, Flo and Dave embarked on a journey that saw them relocate 17 times in three decades. They lived everywhere from Moose Jaw to Toronto and Atlanta before settling in Tampa, Florida for the last 25 years. Together they were an amazing team, and their adventurous spirit and strong work ethic took them across the globe on over 200 company-sponsored trips. They created memories everywhere, from cruise ships to swimming with stingrays in Tahiti and hiking to Machu Picchu in Peru.
In the last 15 years they worked together to build a company, and together they won master, grandmaster, and Elite master dealership designations 11 times. Not only was she Dave’s partner in life and work, but she also became a mentor, friend, and confidant to hundreds of salespeople and staff.
While her life was full of adventure, Flo's most cherished role was that of 'Flotus' to her children, Sarah, Katie, and Nick. She was a fiercely protective mama bear, and she made sure their lives were celebrated and full of joy. She sewed amazing Halloween costumes, she organized elaborate birthday parties, and Sarah and Katie will never forget how Flo drove them around Tampa hoping for Backstreet Boys sightings. Her maternal instinct and love extended to Travis, Maxi, and Adriana when they came into her children’s lives. Before she passed, she knew Nick and Adriana were married in her home, and Flo looked forward to meeting her first granddaughter in January. We know that she will love, protect and watch over her and all of her future grandchildren as they grow. Flo also loved her furbabies, and Rex, Max, and Ritz must have been overjoyed to see her as she walked from this world into theirs.
For Flo, home was a haven. While they moved often, you could guarantee that every home was a testament to her eye for detail and her love for creating a cozy environment. Guests were treated like family, welcomed with thoughtful touches like fine sheets, stocked bathrooms, and special treats. In Tampa her favorite haven was her patio, a calm, tranquil spot where she tended to her plants and enjoyed a view of the lake.
Flo is predeceased by her parents Clara and Peter, her sister Trudy, and her brother Harry. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her husband Dave; children Sarah and Travis, Katie and Maxi, Nick and Adriana, and her puppy Beau. She also left behind an expansive family in Canada, including 10 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flo had an amazing smile and quiet energy that lingered on in everything she touched, every person she knew, and everywhere she went. You’ll feel her presence in butterflies, dragonflies, bees, and sunflowers, and you’ll know when you see a red cardinal that she’s with her mom and together they are watching over you. We mourn the passing of Flo, but we also celebrate our lasting connection; a connection that death doesn’t have the power to sever.
