NELSON, Elizabeth "Betty," of Tampa, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011, surrounded by family and friends. She was born January 13, 1939, in Bangor, Maine, to John and Rose King. She will always be remembered as a dedicated wife, sister, aunt, honorary mom and loyal friend. She loved to spend time with her beloved pets, Reagan, GiGi and Tina, and watch the Buccaneers and Seminoles play football. Betty was a longtime employee of Bank of America, where she made many friends who became her extended family. She was predeceased by both her parents. Betty is survived by her ex-husband, Bud Nelson; sisters, Peggy Levesque (Dwayne) and Donna Cote, both of Maine; niece, Lynne McAninch; and numerous extended family members and friends. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to your local chapter of the Humane Society in honor of Betty Nelson. A memorial gathering will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Gonzalez Funeral Home, with memorial services beginning at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
