Elizabeth Joan Hickey

Elizabeth Joan Hickey, 85, of Tampa passed away May 20, 2017. She was born on May 6, 1932 in Tampa, to the late Anthony and Frances Grandoff. Betty was a graduate of Academy of the Holy Names and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Georgetown University. Betty was an instructor of art at the University of Tampa and one of the original artists for the Gasparilla art show. Betty was listed in the World Who’s Who of Women and a member of the National League of American Penwomen International Platform Association. She was President of Grandoff Investments She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Joan Hickey. She is survived by her children, Linda Bumgarner (Jim), John Hickey, Suzanne Runey (Randy), Diane Durkee (Dan), Michael Hickey, Patrick Hickey (Cecilia); ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm at Blount and Curry MacDill, 605 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa FL 33609. A funeral mass will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33609 followed by interment Garden of Memories Cemetery.
