90, of Tampa, FL, passed away on January 19th, peacefully in her sleep after a very long life of achievement, service and love. She grew up in the Midwest and retained those values throughout her life-hard work, honesty, and humor-modeling them for those of us lucky enough to be in her circle of influence and acceptance. As a teacher and mentor she found her true passion –literally thousands of teenagers and adults responded to her piercing intelligence and never-ending patience. Her knowledge of science and curiosity about the world was both limitless and contagious. After two decades at HB Plant HS, she took a two-year sabbatical to teach in Italy. She told us that it changed her life, and encouraged us all to dare, to challenge ourselves to be better people and better teachers. She returned to Plant filled with joy and continued there until her retirement in 1993. In retirement she continued to tutor, create baskets and travel. E. Anne Ferguson was a beloved parent, grandmother, friend, and teacher. She embodied curiosity, acceptance, and appreciation. Her positive spirit and good humor were always evident and contagious. Anne knew what it was to love and to be loved in return. She is survived by her children: Robert Ferguson, Elizabeth Schenk, Mary Jane Ferguson, Peggy Lovenbury, and grandchildren Robbie, Linea, James, Julie, and Robert. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert W. Ferguson. A Gathering of friends and family will take place on Sunday, January 25th from 5:30-7:30pm at Blount and Curry, 605 S. MacDill Ave. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 27th at St. John's Episcopal Church at 11am.
