Dorothy Ray Ward, 94, of Tampa, FL, passed away on July 20, 2022. She was born in Manchester, Georgia on September 11, 1927 to Otis and Ora Ray. She grew up in LaGrange, Georgia and graduated from LaGrange High School. She married Marshall M. Ward Jr. who was in the U.S. Air Force and lived all over the world for the next 25 years. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross, Shriners Hospitals for Children and Idlewild Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her strong faith, selfless giving and unconditional love for her family and others. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Otis and Ora Ray, her beloved husband, Marshall M. Ward Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Ward. She is survived by her children, Alton Ward, Susan Drapp (John), Thomas Ward and David Ward; grandchildren, Nicole Moore, Shane Ward (Morgan), Justin Ward, Reid Drapp (Shaleiah) and Emily Parker; great-grandchildren, Kingston Moore, Harley and Marshall Parker, Miles and Zuri Drapp and Declan and Brody Ward. She will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Dorothy R. Ward to New Horizons Group Homes in Brandon, FL.
