While we did not know Dora, we have seen her love, spirit, and character shine through Leilani. Clearly, she was an amazing grandmother and woman. Our condolences go out to her family and friends. 

My dearest mother, how I miss you already. The wonderful memories I have of  you will never be forgotten. You and pop helped me to be a proper man of character and integrity and the lessons I learned from you will never be forgotten and I will do my best to pass them down to others and hopefully children of my own. You were always a strong woman and persistent with facing and defeating whatever challenges life had before you. Now, you no longer have have to struggle. You are at peace with pop and all your oved ones and most importantly you are with our  Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
You are the best, ma...I love you...always and forever.

I have been friends with Elda for many years.  In addition to being a great cook, she is a very loyal, kind and loving person.  I remember meeting her mother, Dora, several times and she was always very sweet to me.  Elda once told the story of her family moving to the United States from Cuba.  And even though they did not have much money they were rich in family love and support from her wonderful parents.  Dora was an example for her children of generosity, kindness, tenderness and strength.  I’d go so far as to say that Dora made the world a better place  just by being in it and will be missed by all who knew her.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Dora. My memories of her will always be loving and welcoming. I am sending my love to Richard and your entire family during this time.

I may have only met you a couple times personally in my life but feel as though I knew you like my own mother through your amazing son Richard.  He always spoke so highly of you and over the last 20 years or more my family witnessed the dedication he had for you in his heart. The countless visits to see us always came after he stopped to see his mom (and dad before he went home to be with the Lord). You raised a beautiful family that brought to us a brother for life in Richard. May you now rest in the arms of Jesus and beside your husband knowing you did a job well done! Our deepest sympathy and condolences to your entire family for their great loss and a special prayer for your heart Richard. We all love you forever...

Mi Abuela,
Almost all of my great memories are with her. I am the woman and mother I am because of her.
She taught me to be patient, to love unconditionally, be faithful, have strength, never give up, and most of all to take care of the family. 

My favorite memories are just laying on her at night watching her favorite novelas, while she scratched my back so softly and gently just to make me feel comforted and safe.

Abuela would do anything for anyone and if you came to the house she may not have had much, but she would give you a plate full of her delicious food! Her cooking was phenomenal and that’s not an exaggeration!

I love and miss her so much!
